Anniversary and Writer's Block

I'm baaaaaaack, after a computer crash, months on a loaner laptop, writer's block and straight-up procrastination - not to mention the harassment from family and friends for no blog posts :)...I'm back in the saddle, so to speak.

We hit the one-year mark in October.  It seems like just yesterday we started this mobile adventure and yet it seems so natural.  I love it.  Meeting new people, experiencing different cultures in our great U.S. A. and visiting family and friends that are scattered across the country.

We have been so many great places this past year from the mountains to the lakes "from sea to shining sea" to visiting iconic spots in our Nation's History.  Through the rest of 2011 I hope to post s snippet from all the great adventures we've had since February.  For example, great places in Texas since we left Port Isabel/South Padre Island, places like Mustang Island, Livingston, Snyder (duh, the son and his family are there), DFW (duh, the daughter, my parents, and BFF's are there) and Mart (duh, hubby's bro and family are there).

We've also been to:
Louisiana: Cajun Country (shout out to Tammy and Sostan B) and Bossier City (oh yeah, we made a few dollars

You might be a redneck....(or you might be tired of losing your home to hurricanes and flooding)

Good visit with Tammy and Sos in La.!

Indiana: left a few dollars after custom work on the RV (did you see the pics of my new desk and Kerry's new table and chair?), installing sway bar, new tires (ouch)
Tennessee: Hohenwald and the Natchez Trace- you've got to travel that road and take in the history and beauty, Graceland!! (shout out to Michelle M and Ann A)
Minnesota: Shout out to my bro, Spencer and incredible neice, Arewna!  Did you know they have the most year-round bicycle commuters?  Really.
Missouri: The Arch, The ballfield (shout out to Jim O'H's team)
Disney World: 'nough said :)  I still wear my Minnie Mouse shades
Arkansas: Hot Springs (shout out to our new friends at The Ohio Club http://www.arkansas.com/attractions/detail.aspx?id=95357&r=Ouachitas&city=Hot%20Springs - Yo Jordan S.!)
Colorado: Highly recommend Mesa Verde National Park
New Mexico: Santa Fe
Utah: Everyone should get to spend a month every summer in the Park City area! (shout out to the bro, Michael and his wife Val not to mention our "adopted" extended family in Valerie's family!)
South Dakota: One of the most beautiful states, this will probably get its own blog and yes, Dad, we saw the "dead presidents"
Hershey, PA: For the kid in all of us!
Gettysburg, Boston, Philadelphia, Colonial Williamsburg, oh my.
Chesapeake Bay: where we camped IN the bay.

Right now we're in the metroplex after a great Thanksgiving with my Mom and Dad- even though hubby has a stomach virus :(.  We've had a great time with some BFF's (shout out to Don [we missed you Teri] and the Stubby people {Pat and Jamie}, Amy, Geo and Lorene B, JULIE B, Sherrie S and others.  Thanks for the GREAT homecoming.

This weekend:  Nick, Amber and the GRANDKIDS!!

Here's to great adventures, BA

Greetings from...Houston ?

Howdy Y'all,

We are still parked at Port Isabel but my neice (Audrey) and nephew (Matthew) are watching me for 8 days ;D.
Have you heard some children are a form of birth control?  Well, not these kids!  The kids are so smart and loving and well behaved they make even the non-maternal wonder why they didn't have kids..

Our stint at Port Isabel/South Padre Island is almost up- 3 months in one place, whew.  Although I will miss my mother /father-in-law, I am ready for a change of scenery.

We are headed to Florida by way of Mustang Island and Lafayette Louisiana to visit friends.  After Orlando we're headed to Indiana (getting some new built ins for the RV WooHoo!) then off to South Carolina to visit family.

Happy Adventures!

Pics to follow of some of the great kids from the Spanish mission in PI.
